Fortunate World reviews TeraPad

I'm interesting in looking at new sites like these Web2.0-facing blog places, but they always borrow the same feeling from each other.

Terapad has already failed at requiring JavaScript for signup; you slowly press 'submit' hoping that you've got away with it, but no, it just refreshes the page (and blanks all the data you filled in aswell!) and protests that you require JS for signup.

No, I don't think I do. So NoScript was given permission to let that one slip by, but most of the admin interface needs JS too. It's a shame.

I logged out, and visited the main site again. Now that NoScript is on, I see a large chunky Flash animation in the middle of the page. Kudos to them for hiding it, then again shame on them for *needing* to do that. Gnash mostly supported it, so I guess it's ok.

Still playing with the interface, but I've never really like these "richtext" editors, when I feel I want to enter emphasized text I have to move the mouse, and that just annoys me. We're meant to be moving forward people, not backwards. Listen to my damn <em> tags! It wouldn't take much for it to think, cripes! John wants to start emphasizing now!
